Yes, we all love flowers. Some of us are good at flower arrangements. But, have you ever considered flower arrangement as a home based business? Or better still, if you are good at it you can also take classes to teach the art, from the comfort of your home!

Meet Jayanthi Rathan from Bangalore, registered in our Womens Home Based Business Directory.

What began as a mere hobby for Jayanthi, is a full fledged home based business, for the last five years. She was not qualified for a professional job, but was keen to use her time fruitfully. Her talent for painting, and flower arrangement had been noticed by all, and she was often complimented on her talents. Jayanthi thought to herself, "why not start with something that I am already good at?" That is how it all began.

Jayanthi undertakes classes for all kinds of traditional painting and flower arrangement classes as well. Her 18 years of training and practice in painting, flower arrangements and  the Thai art of banana leaf folding make her quite an expert in the field. She also specializes in making fresh flower garlands, and boasts of 40 different varieties. She undertakes garland orders for weddings and pujas.

The income she earns out of these classes, goes towards the art expenses she incurs. In other words, Jayanthi's business is self-sufficient. Her only form of advertising, all these years, has been through word of mouth.

The one thing she has derived out of her business is complete satisfaction, of doing something worthwhile. Jayanthi looks forward to expand her business at a later date.
