What initiated you to start this business?

I wanted to be financially independent and this was the primary reason for me to start a business.  

How long have you been running this business?  

I've been running this business for the past 4 years.

Who is your role - model?

Shanaz Hussain who has contributed a great deal to the world of beauty is my role model.

How did your family react when you proposed this idea of starting business?

My family was a little hesitant when I proposed the idea of starting a business, but later I convinced them.

Who are your target audience?

Ladies and kids are my target audience.

What are your goals for the year ahead?

I am looking forward to expand my business by opening two other branches in Chennai.

What was your initial investment for the business?

My initial investment was Rs.2 Lakh

Did you face any hurdles as an entrepreneur

I was cautious right from the inception, so I have never faced any hurdles till date.

What are your tips to fellow entrepreneurs?

Never Give Up.

How do you multitask home and business?

My In Laws take care of my home so I can devote my entire time towards my business.

How much time do you devote to your business per day?

I spend upto 10 hours in a day.

When did you achieve your break even profit?

I could take it back within 2 years.

How did you establish your client base?

We circulated pamphlets through local newspapers.

Is your business profitable?

Yes. From day one I have been very cautious so the business is a very profitable one.

What is the competition like in this business?

I face stiff competition as there are two other parlors in the same building, but my old customers visit me over and over again as they like my service.

What are the challenges you face in doing your business?

Every time there is a new beauty product in the market I need to learn the product application methods, which is time consuming.

How does your family cooperate in running this business?

My husband takes care of my 2 year old kid and my in laws take care of the home, so I find it easy to manage my business.

How has this business helped you grow as a person? /Has this business venture changed your personality or life?

Yes, the business has given me an identity and financial independence.

Do you propose to expand your business in terms of production, providing employment opportunities etc?

Yes, I have plans of recruiting talented staff and looking forward to open the parlor in various parts of the city.
