Time Management Tips (from a working woman)!
1. In the rush to manage home, kids and office, calling one's near and dear ones takes a back seat. Always use commuting time to make that much needed call to your mom or aunt or grandma living in another place/ city. Cell phones can be a boon at times!
2. You need to cook in the evening while daughter wants you to help her with her homework. Make her do the same in the kitchen, prop her up on the kitchen table (not next to the oven!). Do your cooking while helping her with her homework.
3. Finishing of cooking early to spend quality time with family - to facilitate this, multitask by using a 4 burner stove. Cook on all 4 at the same time.
4. Stay in touch with friends and acquaintances over phone - call them from your cellphone while ironing or doing sundry jobs around the house - use the "loudspeaker" option of your phone.
5. Have a slip pad fixed to the fridge door. Note down all important to-dos and urgent stuff to buy on that. So that end of the week when you are doing the purchasing to stock up on stationary stuff, you can do all at once.
6. Puree the ingredients wherever possible. Have a mixer handy in the kitchen. Puree the onions and tomataoes when making a curry. That will help in cooking faster rather than bigger pieces of the vegetables.
7. Use disposable plates and glass for b'day parties. That way cleaning up after a party is much faster.
8. Keep the next day's dress (for office wear) ad well as daughter's school dress ready the night before. Will help in avoiding the rush next morning.
9. Figure out a convinience store near you office. Samll knick knaks can be picked up during the lunch break (rush out, pick it up and back to office!) That will save the time needed in the evening to again step out of home to buy the essentials
10. Use home delivery services wherever possible - for groceries, medicines etc. Of course be careful they do not cheat you on prices of the weight.
